ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore the advantage of radiofrequency catheter ablation under the three-dimensional mapping in the treatment of atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) in reducing the X-ray exposure dose of interventional doctors.@*Methods@#79 patients with AVNRT, in the first hospital of Shanxi Medical University from January 2015 to June 2016, performed to do radiofrequency catheter ablation treatment were selected, and according to the random number method were divided into two-dimensional mapping group and three-dimensional mapping group. The two-dimensional mapping group was mapped the ablation target at the X-ray, while the ablation target was mapped by CARTO 3 system in the three-dimensional mapping group. Compare the X-ray fluoroscopy time, success rate, complications rate and doctor’s X-ray exposure dose between the two groups.@*Results@#Compared with the two-dimensional mapping group, acute success rate and complication rate of the three dimensional mapping group were not statistically significant (P>0.05) , while the X-ray fluoroscopy time and the X-ray dose of the three-dimensional mapping group decreased significantly, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05) .@*Conclusion@#Three-dimensional mapping can significantly reduce the X-ray irradiation time and interventional doctor’s X-ray exposure dose in radiofrequency catheter ablation of AVNRT patients and the potential hazards of ionizing radiation on the human body.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the effect of natural active compounds apigenin (API) on the proliferation of rat aortic vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and related mechanisms.@*Methods@#VSMCs of primary cultured SD rats were obtained and the cytotoxic effects of API (0, 10, 20, 40 and 80 μmol/L) was explored by CCK-8 method. Impact of LPS (0, 0.1, 1, 10 and 100 μg/ml) on VSMCs proliferation and the impact of API (0, 10, 20, 40 μmol/L) on LPS (10 μmol)-induced VSMCs proliferation by CCK-8 methods. Using EdU and FCM method, we observed the effect of API on proliferation of VSMCs induced by LPS. VSMCs proliferation and cell cycle were also assessed by EdU method and FACS in 10 μg/ml LPS, 10 μg/ml LPS+ 40 μmol/L API and equal volume DMSO treated VSMCs.@*Results@#(1) CCK-8 cell vitality test showed that cell vitality was not affected by 0-40 μmol/L API, while cell vitality was significantly reduced by 80 μmol/L API (57%), which was significantly lower than in blank group (P<0.05). (2) VSMCs proliferation was significantly promoted by 0.1, 1 and 10 μg/ml LPS and peaked in 10 μg/ml LPS stimulated VSMCs group, while VSMCs proliferation was significantly reduced in 100 μg/ml LPS stimulated group (P<0.05 vs. blank group). (3) LPS (10 μm/ml) induced VSMCs proliferation was not affected by 10 μmol/L API, which was significantly inhibited by 20 and 40 μmol/L API (both P<0.05 vs. LPS). (4) VSMCs proliferation assessed by EdU was significantly higher in LPS group than in blank group (P<0.01), which could be significantly reduced by cotreatment with API (P<0.01). (5) FACS results showed that percent of VSMCs in G0/G1 stage was significantly lower in LPS group compared to blank group (P<0.05), which could be significantly increased post API treatment (P<0.05 vs. LPS), while percent of VSMCs in S stage was significantly lower post API treatment in comparison with LPS group.@*Conclusion@#API can significantly inhibit LPS-induced proliferation of VSMCs, partly through inhibiting mitosis and inducing G0/G1 cell cycle arrest.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the efficiency of endoscopic septoplasty with submucous resection for the treatment of 220 patients with deviated nasal septum and report our experience in this field. Methods From May 2006 to May 2010, 220 patients with deviated nasal septum were treated by endoscopic septoplasty with submucous resection to decompress the stress points, resect the deviated parts and implant the reshaped bone of nasal septum, while retaining the normal structure of nasal septum with minimally invasive technique. Results Satisfactory effects were achieved in all the 220 patients, showing centered septal structure and disappeared symptoms such as nasal obstruction, headache and nasal hemorrhage, but no complications including perforation of nasal septum, depressed nasal bridge and septal chalasia and flaring. Conclusion Rhino-endoscopic septoplasty with submucous resection can substantially retain the original structure of nasal septum and thus is proven to be a desirable operation with multiple advantages including minimal invasiveness, quicker healing and fewer complications.

ABSTRACT

Objective Recent studies reveal important roles of platelet P-seleetin on progression of atherosclerosis. In the present study,we examine the relation between Platelet P-selectin expression and severity of acute coronary syndromes. Methods One hundredand eighty-four consecutive patients with proven or clinically suspected acute coronary syndromes(ACS)were enrolled in the study.Level of P-selectin expression was determined bv flow cytometry.Platelet P-selectin level was expressed as the percentage of P-selectin positive platelet. Results The level of P-selectin was higher in patients with a single diseased coronary artery or multiplediseased arteries compared to thOSe with normal coronary arteries.P-selectin expression was significantly and positively correlatedwith angiographic Gensini score(r=0.323,P=0.029).Multiple regression analyses showed that the association of the percentage of P-selectin-positive platelets with ACS was independent of other clinical factors. Conclusions Platelet P-selectin is associated withseverity of acute coronary syndromes in patients with acute coronary syndromes.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate cardiac troponin I (cTnⅠ) for detecting minor myocardial damage and evaluating the prognostic value in unstable angina (UA) Methods Serum cTnⅠ, creatine kinase isoenzyme MB (CK MB) and a part in cardiac troponin T (cTnT) were measured in 106 (UA) and 44 stable angina (SA) patients as well as 68 cases with normal coronary angiography, 72 healthy subjects Relative risk factors and occurrence of heart events were analyzed Results 61 of 106 patients with UA had elevated cTnⅠ levels (57 5%), but 8 of 44 cases with SA had positive results (18 18%) Among them, only 3 cases had slightly elevated CK MB levels The incidences of heart events were significantly higher in patients with elevated cTnⅠ levels than in patients with normal one The higher cTnⅠ levels was and the more heart events occurred cTnT values was similarly found to be an indicator of increased risk of heart events Conclusion cTnⅠ is a higher sensitive and specific marker for assessing minor myocardial damage cTnⅠ is a strong independent indicator of risk stratification in UA
